Has anyone tried e-boost on their ride?

Hey all, so I’ve recently reserved a V3 E-Boost, and I’m set to take it for a test drive this weekend to see if it’s the right upgrade for me. Right now, I’m driving an ID3 150ps Pro, and I’ve been happy with it for the most part. But I’ve got the chance to pick up the E-Boost as early as next week if everything checks out.....I’m still pretty much undecided and need to weigh a few things before committing.

One of my biggest turn offs with the ID3 is how the sport mode behaves, not sure if it just me right, but it’s almost feels like it’s permanently stuck in B mode, with strong regenerative braking kicking in the moment I lift off the accelerator, even though I’m technically in D mode. It disrupts the smoothness I’m used to, and I find it quite hard to adjust to that level of regen, especially when I want a more relaxed driving experience.

I’m hoping someone with experience driving the E-Boost can chime in on this. When running Cupra mode, does it behave the same way with regen, even in D mode? I’m really hoping it’s different because this one feature could be a dealbreaker for me if the car behaves similarly. Any feedback before I take the plunge would be super helpful, thanks guys.

I haven’t driven the E-Boost, but I get your concerns about the regen in the ID3. It can be a bit jarring if you’re used to a smoother ride.

I don't have any experience with this upgrade. But what I have heard and read is that the Cupra mode is designed for a sportier feel. In this case, the reg braking doesn't behave as aggressively as the ID3's Sport mode with B mode. But, in the D mode (this made me chuckle), you should still have the experience you are looking for. In the end, I think Cupra mode in the E-Boost strikes a good balance between performance and driveability.

From what I know, the E-Boost in Cupra mode is more performance-oriented but doesn’t force aggressive regen unless you switch to B mode. In D mode, the behavior should be more in line with a traditional driving experience, giving you a good balance of sportiness and smoothness. If regen behavior is your dealbreaker, focus on testing both modes during your drive to see if it fits your style.

I did a quick test drive of the e-Boost, and while I haven't driven the ID3, I noticed that the regen in Cupra mode isn't as strong as in B mode. In B mode, you really feel the car slow down when you lift off the gas, but in Cupra or Sport mode, the regen is barely noticeable.

Yeah, it’s the sudden regen that throws me off. Hoping the E-Boost has a more relaxed experience. Appreciate your thoughts..

Thanks for sharing that...sounds like the E-Boost might strike a good balance. I’m definitely leaning toward giving it a go now.

That sounds promising...I’ll test both modes during the drive to see if the smoothness in D mode works for me. Thanks!

That's reassuring....Seems like the E-Boost’s regen in Cupra mode is much more in line with what I’m looking for. Thanks for sharing.
