I feel like Cupra Born is a hatch EV that's a VW in disguise

So I got to check out a Cupra Born, which I feel like basically an electric VW ID.3 with a sportier makeover. It's got decent range (up to 260 miles) and some neat Cupra touches inside. Stands out more than the ID.3 for sure! Wondering if anyone's driven one - is it just a rebadged VW or does it have a real sporty feel? Thinking of going electric and the Born seems interesting, especially with no real competition out there yet.
 
I like this better than the VW ID.3. One thing that's off is the interior that's made of plastic. It makes it look cheap imo.
 
It's funny how people assume all electric cars are like those super-powerful Teslas. But this one? Its power feels pretty normal, honestly. I'd say it's roughly equivalent to a 1.4 or 1.6-liter gas engine, maybe even a 2.0-liter turbo if we're talking about older cars.

I'm starting to come around to the idea of electric motors for certain types of cars. But I'm not sold on them being the answer for everything just yet. That's a whole other discussion.
 
Spot on! the Born is definitely playing the "sporty ID.3" card and they've done a pretty good job with the styling. It's got that aggressive Cupra vibe that sets it apart from its VW sibling. As for the driving experience, it shares the same platform, but they've tweaked the suspension and steering to give it a slightly sharper feel. Whether it's a "real" sporty EV is debatable, but it's definitely more engaging than a standard ID.3. If you're looking for a stylish hatch EV with a bit of a performance edge, and you don't mind the VW DNA underneath, the Born's definitely worth a test drive. And you're right, the competition in that hot hatch EV segment is still pretty thin, so it's a good time to jump in!
